Hey, long time no bloggin'. I've been lost in the dark depths of our studio and hadn't realised the damn time. It's like a vortex, a bermuda triangle style thing, where time just disappears. Luckily there is something to show for it, in the form of awesome new songs which will be winging their way to you in the not too distant future. Think about that for a second and lick your lips.
I'm not going to say much about it now, but we'll be making some announcements soon. Oh yes, we have been secretly scheming.
So what else...It was great being back in NI for the reopening of the Ulster Hall. We were very proud to be part of a talent packed bill. Our little country really punches above it's weight when it comes to music. It was especially good to see the new bands on the way up. Cashier No.9 and The Lowly Knights were awesome, and extra, extra kudos has to go to the Panama Kings for their wicked reworking of "A Life Less ordinary". I loved seeing old friends Neil Hannon and Therapy? Being onstage while they rocked out Teenage Kicks felt amazing. They're a really powerful band.
I got to meet Annie Lennox in New York a few months ago at a New York Times "Talk". She is a sweet and amazing woman and she genuinely loves the song "Shining Light". It was really inspirational and moving to hear her talk about her Sing campaign, which helps women and children with HIV in South Africa. It's a great charity and one you should deffo check out. The stories and videos on there are really emotional.
Alrighty, I'll say adieu and return to recording-land. I've got some lyrics to write!
